Nick is a chiropractic intern, currently completing the Doctor of Chiropractic program through the University of Western States (Portland, OR) under the mentorship of Dr. Matt Ward. Nick completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology at Trinity Western University, where he also competed as a varsity rugby athlete. During his summers off school, he worked a variety of physically demanding labour jobs while continuing his off-season training. Over the years, he experienced a wide range of injuries, from chronic overuse conditions to two full-thickness ACL tears in back-to-back rugby seasons (both of which required surgical reconstruction). These experiences gave him firsthand insight into the physical and mental challenges of injury recovery, while reinforcing the value of hard work, resilience, and maintaining a health, capable body. Through his own recovery journey and time spent working alongside different healthcare practitioners, Nick developed a strong appreciation for the role chiropractic care can play in injury recovery, performance, and helping people return to the activities that matter most to them. His approach blends hands-on care, movement-based rehabilitation, and patient education, with an emphasis on individualized treatment and building long-term resilience rather than simply chasing short-term symptom relief. Growing up in a large family and spending much of his being active outdoors continues to shape how he connects with patients today – whether they are athletes, active individuals, or those simply trying to move better, feel good, and age well. Outside the clinic, Nick can usually be found in the gym, golfing, hiking, cycling around town, snowboarding at Big White, and enjoying the Okanagan outdoors with his wife, Hope.

Jeff is a 2017 graduate of the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. Following graduation, he spent several years practicing as an Registered Massage Therapist in Coquitlam, BC, working alongside a well-versed, movement-based team of chiropractors, physiotherapists, and kinesiologists. This collaborative environment shaped Jeff’s appreciation for integrated healthcare and the value of open communication between practitioners to help patients move from injury or discomfort back to a healthy, active lifestyle. With a background in powerlifting Jeff developed a strong interest in active approaches to soft tissue therapy and myofascial techniques. He was drawn to the consistent results these methods provided across a wide range of individuals, from athletes to office workers.

Jeff believes there is no such thing as a “cookie-cutter” treatment plan. Every person presents differently, and care should reflect that. His treatments are tailored to the individual, combining clinical reasoning with movement-based strategies to support long-term recovery and performance. Having personally experienced a number of injuries through powerlifting, downhill mountain biking, and backcountry skiing — including concussions, fractures, and ligament injuries — Jeff understands firsthand the physical and mental challenges that come with rehabilitation. This perspective allows him to connect with patients navigating their own recovery journeys. Outside of the clinic, Jeff can be found powerlifting, skiing, or mountain biking throughout the mountains of Kelowna and British Columbia, or walking his pitbull, Porter.

Born and raised in the Kootenays, Travis developed a passion for sports and movement early in life. He was selected and signed by the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2007 MLB draft before sustaining an elbow injury which required surgery and more than 10 months of physical therapy.

This experience sparked his interest in the world of rehab and a desire to better understand how to prevent and treat orthopaedic injuries. Travis would go on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at UBCO in Kelowna (2020) and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at UBC in Vancouver (2022). He believes movement is truly medicine and combines this principle with hands-on manual therapy and education to help clients achieve their goals.

Travis briefly provided physiotherapy services at UBC Hospital in Vancouver and more recently as a private practitioner based in Kelowna. He has a special interest in injury prevention, motor control, athletic performance and sustainable training methods. When not in the clinic, he’s likely training or searching for the best coffee and food in Kelowna with his partner Taylor.

Dr. Matt Ward, DC

Dr. Matt Ward is a chiropractor, mountain athlete, and performance driven clinician with a background rooted in hard work and high performance. Before earning his Bachelor of Kinesiology from UBC, Matt spent his younger years framing houses, logging, and working as a rappel forest firefighter in the steep mountains of British Columbia. Those experiences shaped his respect for physical resilience, durability, and practical strength.

While at UBC, he competed in collegiate golf, varsity track and field, and the 2014 and 2015 CrossFit Regionals. After graduation, he worked extensively as a strength and conditioning coach, training everyone from general population clients to professional athletes. This foundation continues to influence his clinical approach today by blending rehabilitation, strength development, and long term performance.

Outside the clinic, Matt is most at home in the mountains. Mountain hunting, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and golf are not just hobbies, they are part of how he connects with the community and lives the lifestyle he helps others return to.

As a Titleist Performance Institute certified provider, Matt has worked closely with golf professionals and athletes of all levels, helping players move better, swing more efficiently, and play with confidence.

Matt founded Origin Health with a vision of building more than just a clinic. His goal is to create a space where healthcare, performance, and community intersect, and where people feel supported, challenged, and empowered. Whether you are chasing peaks, walking Knox Mountain, returning to sport, or simply trying to keep up with your kids, your goals matter.

At Origin Health, the mission is simple. Help you move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing what you love for the long haul.
